Crafty Day

It was a scorcher of a day, but Sweetpea, hubby and myself headed out with the moms to check out a local downtown Art Festival that comes around annually.
And, as every other year, it didn't disappoint - we left several purchases later.

Here are just some of the places we visited:

These are really cool. They're called Hair Fancys.
We bought some for Sweetpea because they're so cool. We put them to the test and they have stayed in her hair ALL DAY without coming lose or falling out at all! Even through a nap!
They are very simple to put in the hair and they have several different colors and charms. Unfortunately, she didn't have any monkey ones but Sweetpea was able to find a couple she really liked :)

Sweetpea just bought herself a charm bracelet with some special money she had and one of the things she wanted to look for today was another charm. We were able to find that at International Cut Coins. Here they take coins from all around the world, cut and craft out the images in them and turn them into various items. I had gotten one for myself a few years back made out of a Canadian penny. Today, Sweetpea picked out a charm cut out of an American Susan B Anthony dollar - an eagle.

While wandering I stopped by a couple of booths that I thought my friend The EcoChic would like.
One of them was Sun-Coast Globes. This company decorates items with paper napkins. It sounds strange but they actually had some beautiful pieces. They create them using either decoupage or papier mache techniques, depending on the item. They can also create special gifts using one of your favorite photographs.
The other was Sarasota Natural Candles. They specialize in environmentally friendly, natural soy wax candles. I stopped by to smell some of their "concoctions" and loved most of them. The wicks are completely lead free cotton or paper core.

There were plenty of other amazing and beautiful booths to look at. We were there for quite a few hours. If it wasn't for the heat I'm sure we would have stayed longer to finish looking at them all.

It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with the family. Can't wait for it to come around again next year.
